Your privacy

• Your name, email address, phone number, preferred messaging app, and neighborhood.
• The social media or web profiles you share (at least one is required).
• Your answers to the application questions.
• Any dietary restrictions or allergies you share.
• The name of anyone you nominate, and what you tell us about them.
• How you heard about The Seating, and who referred you.
• If you’re shortlisted and we ask: the name and contact of a reference, if you choose to give one.

• To review your application and compose balanced tables.
• To confirm your identity before an invitation is sent.
• To contact you about a follow-up or an invitation.
• To make sure the menu is safe for you.

We don’t use your information for advertising, and we never sell it.

Applications are stored with our website host, Netlify, and in The Seating’s private records. Only the Curator and approved hosts of The Seating LLC can read them. They are kept in private records and are never published or shown in a public list. Dietary needs are shared with the guest chef without your contact details.

If you accept an invitation and join the cohort channel, other guests at your table may see your name, and possibly your number, depending on the app. Telegram lets you hide your phone number in its privacy settings.

We look only at what you’ve made public, and only to confirm who you are before an invitation. We never follow, message, tag, or share your accounts, and nothing about you is posted.

We won’t contact anyone you nominate without speaking with you first, and we won’t add them to any list without their agreement. A reference you provide during the follow-up is contacted only to confirm what you’ve told us.

Guests are photographed only with consent, and no image showing a guest is published without that guest’s approval.

If you haven’t been invited to a dinner within 12 months of applying, your application is deleted unless you ask us to keep it. Guests’ records are kept while they remain part of The Seating.

You can ask to see, correct, or delete your information at any time by replying to any message you receive from The Seating. Deletion requests are completed within 30 days.
